PTA Membership

All Lee parents are welcome to attend our meetings, whether or not they are PTA members.  However, we encourage you to join!  It’s easy, just sign up online and pay your annual $5 dues.  Dues can be paid online, or via check/cash at a PTA meeting. Doing so supports the important work being done by the state and national PTA on behalf of children nationwide.

Building membership and collecting dues

Volunteer Coordinator/Teacher Appreciation – Pat Thurmond

Requests volunteers and organizes volunteer shifts for events like tie-dying day, Fall Festival, Silent Film / Silent Art and the ice cream social.  Organizes activities such as meals for teachers on parent-teacher conference days and more creative shows of appreciation for our awesome teachers.

Slow Food – Amy Powell

The Slow Food program brings farmers and fresh food to the third grade classes throughout the school year to reinforce the connections between good food, good health and our community. In the spring the whole third grade goes on a farm visit — so fun!

Silent Auction – Theresa Shettlesworth

This is our BIG fundraiser to support the PTA artist in residence account (AIR), which pays for visits by guest artists and musicians and art-related needs for Lee’s unique arts integration format. It’s a super-fun family event that has become a community-wide tradition.

Fundraising Committee– Lindsay Oncken

Lee participates in a variety of fundraising activities designed to provide resources for teachers and students.  Grade-level fundraisers are scheduled each month.  Additionally, there are silent fundraisers — ways you can help PTA without doing much at all. Save boxtops, designate Lee as your Target Red Card school, shop at Amazon Smile and designate Lee.

Book Fair – Pat Thurmond

Scholastic Book Fairs are held during parent-teacher conferences in November and March.  Proceeds benefit the Lee media center so we can purchase more books.

Green Team Coordinator – Lori McCurdy

The Green Team takes care of our outdoor space and encourages composting, recycling and a sustainable school environment. We maintain the compost bins, raised beds and gardens.
