    • Mary Sue Gibson introduced herself.  She was the principal at Lee from 2000-2006 and will be working in conjunction with Mary Korth-Lloyd to assume principal duties at Lee.  They will work out a schedule among themselves to ensure a principal is always in the building.
    • Mary Sue announced that seven Lee teachers received a total of eight Links to Learning Awards from the Assistance League of Mid-Missouri.  These monies were awarded to carry out special learning projects for students.  Congratulations!

    • AIR Balance is $5600
    • General Account Balance is $15,600
    • Note that the General Fund balance is allocated so for non-budgeted items/events we will need to fundraise to provide resources.
  • ASB Report
    • Debbie Rodman presented a summary of the fall ASB meeting.
    • The District is advertising for members to participate in the Naming Committee.  Carissa Seek is the ASB nominee to represent Lee.
    • The district is forming a committee to work on renovation plans for Lee.  A tentative schedule was shared showing that the Lee community would vacate the building in 2019 and construction is estimated to take two years.
    • Discussion regarding plans during construction occurred.  Many variables are unknown at this time.  Debbie is representing Lee ASB on the renovation committee.  More information will be shared as it becomes available.

    • Week of November 6 – Parent/Teacher Conferences.  Food signup will be going out
    • PTA November meeting date is undetermined at this time.  Our normal meeting would be November 14 but that conflicts with literacy night.  A decision will be communicated once logistics have been worked out.

May 9, 2017 PTA Meeting Minutes

Lee Expressive Arts PTA Meeting Minutes
May 9, 2017

Introduced Lisa Gunn, who is running for the Partner in Education representative spot on the Lee ASB.  Teachers will elect the PIE rep on May 17.

Principal’s Report
Watch for an email about volunteering for field day.  We need many volunteers to make this a success.  The end of the year is always a busy time.  The musical and 5th grade graduation are coming up.  The basketball team has an upcoming tournament and Luke will post info to the Lee PTA Facebook page in case people want to attend.

Treasurer’s Report
Once we pay out expected expenses for the General account we should have a balance of approximately $8600.  The AIR account balance at the end of the year is approximately $10,800.

ASB Report
The ASB passed a motion at their last meeting regarding enrollment numbers for next year.  Every class will be a large class.  There will be 3 classrooms for each grade level except one, which will have 2 classrooms.  The grade level with 2 classrooms has not been identified yet and we will need to look at enrollment fluctuations over the summer before that decision is made.
The spring ASB meeting will coincide with the Ice Cream Social on May 11.  Parents will vote on an ASB parent rep at this time.

Fundraising Committee Report
The Moe’s fundraiser for 3rd grade made $280.37.  The t-shirt fundraiser made around $500 for the general account and t-shirts can be picked up at the Ice Cream Social.  A call for volunteers for the fundraising committee will occur over the summer and they will meet at least once before August to randomly draw the order that grade levels will have PTA-coordinated fundraisers.

Old Business

Silent Auction Update
Thanks to this year’s auction committee!  The event was well attended and the space worked out great.  We cleared $8500 for the AIR account.  This was due to the hard work and effort of a relatively small set of volunteers.  If we want to continue to hold a fundraiser like this we need more volunteers.  The current auction committee will have a wrap-up meeting.  A call for next year’s committee will go out at the beginning of the next school year.  If you want to have a vote in how the auction (or alternate fundraiser is run) then volunteer for the committee so you have a full understanding of the issues surrounding the planning.  If you have comments you want to express that can be done via the Lee FB page, by contacting Theresa Shettlesworth or by emailing leeartspta@gmail.com.  The success of our major fundraiser depends on active participation by more than 7-8 people so please consider volunteering.
