Dear members of the Lee community,
Over the past months the Lee Autonomous School Board (ASB) has been developing a coherent set of bylaws to govern the ASB’s actions and ensure that all members of the Lee community could be heard and fairly represented at ASB meetings.
Attached please find a draft of these bylaws. Like any bylaws these will doubtless need periodic review and revision over the next few years, but it is nevertheless important that we do our best to get them right. The ASB has developed this draft set of bylaws, and now it’s your turn to tell us what you think. We would appreciate your comments by December 23rd to allow us time to adequately consider suggestions prior to our next regularly scheduled ASB meeting. We hope to adopt these bylaws, including any revisions, at our first scheduled meeting of 2014.
And since one of our goals has been to make it easy for you to bring issues to the ASB, we’ve also arranged for an email address that will allow you to send one message to all the Board members simultaneously. Just email LeeAsb and the message will be delivered to all ASB members.
Please read over the attached draft bylaws, and if you have suggestions or concerns–or just want to share your thoughts–please send us an email at LeeAsb. That way you can share your thoughts and test the new email address at the same time. If for any reason you don’t hear back from us promptly, please feel free to contact me (barkeraw) or any of the other members of the Lee Autonomous School Board directly.
I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank the members of the ASB for their hard work in crafting this draft, and for the time, concern and attention the draft reflects.
I look forward to your comments.
Alex W. Barker
President, Lee Autonomous School Board
