I just wanted to send out a huge thanks to all of you who participated in yesterday’s amazing event at Ragtag. Having the opportunity to share the experience of watching the remarkable film HUGO, filming a movie bumper, and remembering the significance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with children’s voices reciting King’s "I Have a Dream" speech–well, it was a truly phenomenal experience to share as a school community.
An enormous thank you to Ragtag’s Tracy Lane for providing us with this opportunity and for her incredible, ongoing support of Lee. From providing yesterday’s event, to the generous Ragtag donations to our Silent Film/Silent Art Auction, to hosting an art exhibit for Lee student works this May, we just couldn’t be more appreciative of her extraordinary generosity and support.
Yesterday also served as a wonderful springboard to our upcoming Silent Film/Silent Art Auction, which will feature the silent films of George Melies (the film innovator highlighted in the movie HUGO) with vocalists and a live orchestra. So mark your calendars and invite your friends and family to join us at the 7th Annual Silent Film/Silent Art Auction on February 9th from 3 – 6 at the Missouri Theatre!
